Two upcoming events on Hawaii Island will have foodies salivating.
Big Island Chocolate Festival, set for May 13-14 at Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, features a cacao plantation tour, chef demonstrations, culinary seminars, chocolate body painting and an indoor-outdoor gala with tastes from top chefs and confectioners. This year’s fest honors the 100th birthday of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and promises an eruption of flavors.
For java jivers, Kau Coffee Festival percolates with a hearty lineup, from hikes and stargazing to farm tours and coffee tastings. Spanning May 13-22, it culminates in an all-day hoolaulea (outdoor party) with food and craft booths, hula, music and games for the kids.
