Guests of Montage Kapalua Bay can embrace the area’s rich history courtesy of Silla Kaina, who serves as cultural ambassador for the northwest Maui property. The daughter of a pineapple plantation worker, Kaina was born and raised in Kapalua, and she enjoys sharing her vast knowledge with visitors.
During informal tours of the resort, she points out landmarks and significant sites while coloring the conversation with stories, legends and lore. Guests who spend a little quality time with her might learn how to weave a lei, strum a ukulele or master a few hula moves.
