Travel agents have a new source of commission thanks to Roberts Hawaii, which has added a roundtrip Kona International Airport shuttle service on Hawaii Island.
The shuttle runs to and from select hotels and resorts along the Kailua-Kona, Keauhou and Kohala coastline, and it guarantees no more than five stops during any trip.
A round-the-clock reservation-based offering, Roberts Hawaii Express Shuttle greets guests in person at the airport’s main arrival area. Company representatives provide clients with a shell lei and escort them to baggage claim, where they receive luggage assistance onto the shuttle.
Rates vary according to distance and the number of passengers in each party. For individual travelers, prices begin at $15 per person for a one-way transfer, or $28 for a roundtrip. Parties of four or more traveling together can pay as low as $5 per person for a one-way trip. Additional charges may apply for excessive or large luggage such as surfboards and bicycles. Strollers, car seats and wheelchairs are free.
Travel agents should book their client’s airport shuttle transportation at least 48 hours in advance of the trip. They can do so via Roberts Hawaii’s travel agent website.
