Special Events Coming Up in Maui

There is always something happening on the Magic Isles of Maui, Molokai and Lanai. The latest schedule of our special events can be found on www.VisitMaui.com. This winter your clients can experience a variety of special events on Maui such as The Na Mele O Maui Hawaiian song competition is held at the Maui Arts and Cultural Center in Kahului while the lighting of the Banyan Tree takes place on Front Street in Lahaina in December. On Molokai your clients can watch the delightful Christmas Parade and participate in the seasonal festivities held after the parade. On Lanai they can enjoy the Christmas Festival and Tree Lighting ceremony held near Dole Park in Lanai City.

In January the 2011 Hyundai Tournament of Champions (formerly the SBS Championship) and the Kaanapali Champions Skins Game are offering free admission to spectators for the golfing events. From January 3 through 9, PGA Tour champions from the previous year compete in a season-opening golf tournament at Kapalua's Plantation Course for a $5,600,000 purse; televised four days. Hyundai now is the title sponsor. Portions of the proceeds benefit Maui charities. For the schedule, please go to www.kapalua.com.

From January 27 through 30, the Kaanapali Champions Skins Tournament features four pairs of the world's most admired Senior PGA pros playing on the Kaanapali Golf Courses for up to $800,000 skins purse. In February the Maui Whale Festival kicks off with Fun run, a Whale parade and other events follow later in the month go to www.MauiWhaleFestival.org for details.
