To help commemorate Hawaii’s 50th anniversary of statehood this year, a number of hotel, activity and meeting partners have dreamed up special rates and promotions, making a trip to the islands even more appealing and affordable.
Hilton Family Hawaii is running a 50 Years of Aloha package, good for travel through Dec. 20. Clients get four nights’ accommodations, with the fifth night at $50. Guests also have the choice of one $50 spa credit, $50 dining credit or $50 watercraft rental credit (kayaks, aqua cycles and waterbees), and they receive two commemorative State of Hawaii quarters in a collector’s case. Clients born in 1959 enjoy a free dinner entree at one of the resorts’ restaurants. Marriott Resorts’ value-added Hawaii Statehood package is available throughout 2009 at all five of the chain’s island properties. Clients get the fourth night free, VIP turndown service, a newly minted Hawaii quarter and daily breakfast for two. Guests of JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa, Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa and Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club also receive a one-time $50 resort credit, while clients booking Wailea Beach Marriott Resort and Spa get $75 in resort credit (www.marriott.com).
In honor of statehood, Starwood Hawaii invites clients to experience one of its Waikiki properties, including the Moana Surfrider, Sheraton Waikiki, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani and newly-renovated Royal Hawaiian. Guests who book the Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort and Spa for a minimum of five nights can indulge in a 50-minute Na Hoola Spa massage for $50 per person. Prince Resorts Hawaii is promising clients a $50 daily resort credit with its Spring into Summer package, providing discounted accommodations starting at $219 per night. Additional deals await golfers at four of Prince’s courses around the islands. Clients who golf one round at Mauna Kea (Big Island) or Makena (Maui) get the second round for $50, while those playing two rounds at Hapuna (Big Island) or Hawaii Prince (Oahu) get the third round for a 50 percent discount (www.princeresortshawaii.com).
Also timed with the 50th anniversary of statehood, Aston Hotels and Resort is running a deal called Aston Escapes, saving clients up to 40 percent off room rates through Dec. 21. Discounted nightly rates start at $80 on Maui, $94 on Kauai, $103 on Oahu and $166 on the Big Island. All year long, guests who book accommodations at one of Castle Hotels and Resorts’ Oahu properties get 50 percent off published rack rates. For groups, the Hawaii Convention Center has come up with the Hawaii 50th promotion.
