Wailea Resort Association has been upgrading with a variety of projects, ranging from the creation of an extended-stay hotel to renovations on existing properties and the addition of new retailers and events.

Check out these noteworthy news briefs from the Wailea Resort community, whose upscale accommodations, shopping, golf, tennis and beaches are located in southwest Maui.

The Fairmont Kea Lani Renovation
Work on a floor-to-ceiling renovation of The Fairmont Kea Lani’s suites is wrapping up, and the property’s villas will be remodeled by mid-December. From improved carpets and lighting to designer desks and countertops, the units will look as fresh as when the hotel first opened. The accommodation overhaul comes on the heels of a three-year resort renovation that included the reworking of Ko restaurant and launch of the new Willow Stream Spa.

At the 40-acre Grand Wailea, all guest rooms are getting new furniture, carpeting, artwork, linens and 55-inch flat-screen televisions, as well as bathroom enhancements. Its adults-only Hibiscus Pool has been retiled, and a new deck surrounds the resort’s Wailea Canyon Activity Pool. Grand Wailea’s new website, which made its debut in early July, includes full information on the property and features a blog by hotel employees.
