A Premier Experience at Waikiki’s Halekulani

May 23, 2010

Travel agent Michael Chick, from Los Angeles-based All Star Travel, was surprised and delighted to win a stay at Waikiki’s famed Halekulani last September. Just by registering for an exclusive TravelAge West Connection Webinar on the property’s new Premier Suites, he was able to spend three nights in the new Vera Wang Suite — thanks to a random drawing. Now, fresh from his April stay, Chick said he was very impressed by what the luxury property had to offer.

“I anticipated receiving exceptional, personalized, VIP service and got all that and more, exceeding what were extremely high expectations on my part. There was nothing common about the Premier Suites experience,” said Chick.

Each of the Premier Suites at Halekulani boasts different personalities, offering something for nearly everyone. The 4,066-square-foot, two-bedroom Royal Suite is designed as a calming retreat and features a kitchen and a grand piano.

The 3,778-square-foot Orchid Suite offers a more high-tech modern experience in a sophisticated space that includes an outdoor area. For an additional cost, Orchid Suite guests can participate in an exclusive Sea of Life Wellness Program, which includes a signature White Algae Body Cocoon treatment, as well as join in on exclusive cooking lessons.

The Vera Wang Suite, where Chick stayed, was personally designed by the famed fashion designer, and is available as a one-bedroom suite (2,135 square feet of interior space with a 642-square-foot outdoor lanai), a two-bedroom suite (a total of 4,066 square feet of indoor and outdoor space) or a single-bedroom suite known as the Executive Luxury Suite (1,185 square feet of interior space with a 104-square-foot lanai).

Adorned with modern lines, the suite combines Wang’s style with Hawaiian and Pacific Rim influences. Personal touches from the designer include a selection of her fragrances and a movie library inspired by her favorite films. Guests may also enjoy a la carte en-suite spa services, and private limousine airport transfer service is included.

Throughout their stay, all Premier Suites guests have exclusive access to the Art in Motion program which allows them to drive a luxury automobile, such as a Bentley or a Maserati. They may also participate in the hotel’s For You, Everything program, which gives all
Halekulani guests exclusive access to local arts and cultural attractions.

For Chick, the most memorable features of his stay were the outstanding levels of service and attention from the two private butlers he requested in his pre-arrival guest profile. In addition, he fondly recalled the concierge team’s service before, during and even after his visit, and their ability to make excellent dining recommendations and secure the best tables at any restaurant, even during prime hours.

“This attention to detail reassures you that exceptional service is, in fact, still alive and well after all,” said Chick.

While Chick had already referred his luxury clients to stay at the Halekulani before his stay, he said he would not hesitate to suggest booking a Premier Suite for clients looking to splurge.

“Agents should let clients know that a visit to the Premier Suites at Halekulani is a complete experience, not simply a place to stay,” he said, “and they should strongly emphasize the outstanding service with which they will be pampered.”
