Once again, Barcelo has taken a beautiful hotel and made it even
better. Overlooking the Mismaloya Bay just minutes from historic
downtown Puerto Vallarta, the Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya is
fresh from an extensive $7.2 million renovation to its public
spaces and guest suites.
As a highlight, the renovation included the addition of a new
European-style spa for guests of the all-inclusive property. The
hotel has also finalized a comprehensive beach restoration program,
enhancing and restoring one of Puerto Vallarta’s most beautiful
beach coves.
The improvements at the 304 all-suite property are designed to
create a warm sense of welcome and tranquility, helping to
instantly affirm the guest’s expectation for a relaxing experience.
Each of the 179 one-bedroom guest suites has been redesigned into a
two-room suite that includes a comfortable sleeping area with plush
bedding, a desk and a sleeper-sofa. The second room provides a
living area for relaxing that also includes a second sleeper-sofa
to accommodate families traveling together.
The hotel’s luxury Presidential Suites have also been redesigned
with a soft contemporary palette of neutral tones accented with
tropical colors. Each opens onto large balconies with views of
Mismaloya Bay and the surrounding gardens. Bathrooms have
incorporated spa-like finishes featuring natural stone and large
walk-in showers with handheld showerheads. Flat-screen plasma TVs
and high-speed Internet access have become standard in these guest
suites.
For the ultimate relaxation, the hotel has added a world-class
spa facility. Presenting an innovative and unique indoor/outdoor
experience, it includes water features and a lush, colorful garden
for a variety of European-style and regional treatments and
services.
As an all-inclusive Barcelo Premium hotel, the property provides
its guests all of their dining, house cocktails, wine and beer
throughout the day and evening, recreational activities at the
beach and pool area, evening entertainment, fitness center use and
the Club Barcy children’s program.
For dining, guests may choose from a selection of four restaurants
ranging from resort casual to world-class cuisine. The property is
also a haven for watersports enthusiasts with snorkeling, diving
and boating from its beach. Four outdoor swimming pools with
waterfalls and Jacuzzis round out the recreational diversions.
Recently, the Barcelo La Jolla de Mismaloya added Premium Club
Service for its most discriminating guests. Available to those
booking the Premium oceanview suites, it includes extra amenities
such as a welcome fruit basket and chilled wine upon arrival.
Guests of the Premium Club also have access to a VIP Lounge from
10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily where they’ll find a self-service cocktail
bar, afternoon tea and a daily sunset cocktail reception. In
addition, all guest suites on the Premium Club Level provide such
upgraded amenities as bathrobes, slippers and deluxe bath
amenities.
Through the month of February, special rates are $113 per
person, per night, based on double occupancy. Rates are
commissionable at 10 percent, with a blackout from February
18-26.
