Since 1953, Riu Hotels & Resorts has provided all-inclusive
vacations in popular destinations around the world. The European
group added to its Mexico inventory in December by opening Riu
Palace Cabo San Lucas, a 642-room all-inclusive beachfront resort.
Located on Medano Beach just three miles from the town of Cabo
San Lucas, this new resort features two swimming pools, six
restaurants, four bars, tennis courts, a fitness center and other
amenities. It is the second Riu property on Mexico’s west
coast.
“Because we offer affordable, first-class vacations in Mexico’s
most desirable locations, our resorts in Cancun, Playa del Carmen
and Puerto Vallarta have all enjoyed great success,” said Miguel
Violan, Communications Director of Riu Hotels & Resorts, “Cabo
San Lucas is a wonderful destination, and we are thrilled to offer
our guests a stunning all-inclusive luxury resort in this beautiful
area of Mexico.”
The five-story, colonial-style property boasts 32,000 square
meters of gardens with native plants, flowers, trees and shrubs.
All rooms feature terraces opening to gardens and ocean views. Room
amenities include air-conditioning, satellite and local TV, direct
dial phone, mini-bar and liquor dispenser, in-room safe and
hairdryer. Its inventory features 18 suites, several equipped with
a Jacuzzi.
Located at the southernmost tip of the Baja peninsula, Cabo San
Lucas has grown from a sleepy fishing village to a vibrant
destination known for its sport fishing, scuba diving, golf courses
and romantic beaches. With an average year-round temperature of 78
degrees, Cabo appeals to travelers with its Sea of Cortez
diversions and Mexican culture.
A family-owned business, Riu Hotels & Resorts operates more
than 110 hotels worldwide, with 23 hotels in the Americas region
including Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Florida, Jamaica and Mexico.
