Equus Hotel in Waikiki is promoting a pair of packages targeting two key niche markets: couples and members of the military and federal government.
A trail ride for two is part of the new romance package available from Equus, the only hotel in Hawaii that offers access to a 100-acre oceanside private polo club on the north shore of Oahu. When couples book the package, they stay in a one-bedroom Equestrian Suite with a wet bar. They are indulged with chocolates and signature wine upon arrival, sunset cocktails for two overlooking the nearby yacht harbor and two tickets to Hawaii Polo Club matches on the north shore during polo season.
The highlight of the package is the his-and-hers Kuuipo (Sweetheart) Trail Ride which meanders along a spectacular, remote coastline bordering the Hawaii Polo Club. The couple trots on the sand, through windswept countryside and past postcard-perfect scenery. Equus staff can also help guests book the north shore estate for weddings and special events. Rates for the romance package start at $260 per night with a three-night minimum.
Meanwhile, Equus now features the Dinner’s On Us package. Designed for military and federal government business travelers, it provides a $25 Visa card for each night of stay so clients can treat themselves to dinner in Waikiki, since the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant. Nightly rates for the package start at $175.
A boutique hotel, Equus Hotel is located within walking distance of many Waikiki restaurants as well as the Ala Moana Center — one of the world’s largest shopping malls —and the beach.
