Later this year, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will enter the Vietnam market for the first time.

In December, the luxury brand will take over operations at The Nam Hai, a high-end resort near Hoi An, Vietnam. The property is owned by Singapore-based Hotel Properties Limited and Dubai-based ASB Properties Limited.

Renovations are currently underway on the 60 resort villas and 40 private residences of The Nam Hai, where officials expect improvements to be complete before Four Seasons assumes control.

The property will be renamed Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, Hoi An, Vietnam.

“Hoi An is one of the most coveted resort locations in Vietnam, and we’re excited to be bringing legendary Four Seasons service and quality to this idyllic destination,” said Stephen Lau, chairman for Hotel Properties Limited.

Hoi An is a UNESCO-protected trading port that dates back to the 15th century and is located about a half-hour south of Da Nang International Airport.

First built in 2006, The Nam Hai property’s collection of resort villas and private residences will all feature private terraces and outdoor showers after the renovation work wraps up, and the units will be home to expansive indoor and outdoor living space, according to officials.

Other resort amenities will include three pools with views of the beach and ocean along with three separate restaurants, a bar, a kids’ club, a luxury spa and a fitness center.

“Vietnam is an important growth market for Four Seasons, and this is a unique opportunity to quickly establish a presence in the country’s top resort destination,” said J. Allen Smith, president and CEO for Four Seasons.

The company currently manages 10 properties in the Asia Pacific region, including three resorts in Thailand, two in Bali, three in the Maldives and properties on the island of Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Langkawi in Malaysia.
