Set to open later this month and located 35 minutes away from Los Cabos International Airport, Grand Velas Los Cabos will be the fifth property for family-owned and operated Velas Resorts. The stunning beachfront resort will cater to business and vacation travelers, and it will have the ability to accommodate a wide variety of top national and international meetings and conventions, as well.
The resort’s convention center is scheduled to officially open Nov. 20. And with 16,370 square feet of flexible event space, it will be the largest in Los Cabos.
“Our beautiful convention center has a capacity for up to 1,700 attendees,” said Jose Luis Lopez Resendiz, director of sales for Grand Velas Los Cabos. “Our Grand Velas and Ambassador ballrooms conveniently divide into 20 breakout rooms.”
In addition to customizable meeting space, amenities will include state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, secretarial and translation services and a fully equipped business center. The space will feature an outdoor terrace with dramatic ocean views that can host up to 600 attendees in a cocktail reception. A rooftop garden will provide more space for events. The resort also has an expert meetings and events team to assist with gatherings, which are tailored to the needs of guests.
“Digital signage in each space will allow personalization of your group agenda and is easy to change every time the group requests it,” Resendiz said. “There is independent lighting in each ballroom that our clients will operate from a device to avoid any disturbance during the meeting. At the same time, Grand Velas Los Cabos has its own in-house audiovisual team to attend to all the special and last-minute requests.”
For business lunches and dinners, as well as after-hours events, there will be five gourmet restaurants and three bars at the resort — all will offer stunning views, indoor and open-air seating and wine pairings.
“Grand Velas Los Cabos will offer extensive menu options, and our executive chef welcomes the opportunity to customize any menu or prepare items to your personal taste,” Resendiz said.
After completing a day filled with meetings and events, attendees can relax in one of the 20 treatment rooms at the resort’s two-story spa, which will offer the latest technology and wellness treatments, including dry saunas, vitality pools, whirlpools, herbal steam rooms with color therapy, clay and ice rooms and experience showers. Three infinity pools with views of the Sea of Cortez, along with a fitness center, will round out the experience.
For business travelers with children, Grand Velas’ Kids’ Club will provide a safe environment for young ones to participate in fun activities during the day. The resort will also have a Teens’ Club with a fully equipped game room for those ages 13 to 18.
