Hawaiian Hotels & Resorts (HHR) has announced the
restructuring of its executive team, which is responsible for
managing the Royal Lahaina Resort on Maui and the Royal Kona Resort
on Hawaii’s Big Island. Ed Hogan, founder of Pleasant Holidays, and
chairman and CEO of Pleasant Travel Service, owns the two
resorts.
The newly restructured executive management team is led by the
next generation of Hogans. Gary Hogan is the executive vice
president of operations working in Hawaii. Prior to rejoining the
family business and focusing on its remaining resorts, the younger
Hogan served as president of Pleasant Holidays Hawaii division for
14 years. Glenn Hogan has been named executive vice president of
sales and marketing at corporate headquarters in Newbury Park,
Calif.
Currently working closely with Gary Hogan on plans for the
revitalization of the Royal Lahaina Resort is Matt Delaney. Delaney
was most recently CEO and president of Marc Hotels and Resorts, a
hotel and condominium resort management company located in Hawaii.
He was responsible for acquisitions and development in Hawaii for
Marc Resorts and internationally for its parent company, Sunterra
Corporation.
“Working with Matt Delaney on our new project is an incredible
opportunity,” said Ed Hogan. “He brings a wealth of knowledge,
financial background and enthusiasm to the table, and he will be
key to developing and repositioning our two resorts.”
The senior Hogan has also announced the selection of Bob Froio
as vice president of sales and marketing for HHR. During his
two-year stint at HHR, Froio was most recently vice president of
hotel operations, product development and incentive
departments.
“Bob’s in depth experience in many arenas make him ideally
suited to help increase HHR’s business, “ remarked Gary Hogan. “His
knowledge of the travel and hotel industries specific to Hawaii
make him a tremendous asset and we are thrilled to have him on
board”, he continued.
Froio will also be responsible for overseeing the Central
Reservation Call Center located at the corporate headquarters.
Also onboard is Thomas Bell as the new managing director of the
Royal Lahaina Resort. Formerly hotel manager for Starwood Hotels
& Resort’s Royal Hawaiian Hotel in Honolulu, Bell was also the
general manager at the W Honolulu Hotel.
“With more than ten years of restaurant and hotel experience
primarily in Hawaii, Tom is well qualified to make a contribution
to the operations of our major redevelopment plan,” said Gary
Hogan. “He has a passion for the business and guest service, which
are key attributes to HHR’s repositioning of the Royal Lahaina
Resort into the luxury market.”
Other new HHR appointments include Braulio F. Andaluz as Royal
Lahaina Resort’s food and beverage director, and Lalo Fernandez as
general manger for the Royal Kona Resort.
“We are thrilled to announce the members of our new dream team,”
stated Ed Hogan. “We have some very exciting plans in the works for
our resorts happening in the immediate future, and this is the next
generation of leaders that will make it all happen.”
