Fresh from a $14 million renovation, the Ilikai on Oahu has introduced luxury condominium suites that will broaden its marketing appeal. The 50-year-old property first gained fame by appearing in the opening credits of the original “Hawaii Five-0” television show, with actor Jack Lord, who played Steve McGarrett, standing on its penthouse lanai.
Now, renamed the Ilikai Hotel & Luxury Suites, the property has elevated its appeal by adding 80 high-end studio suites and four two-bedroom suites on its top four floors. Aqua Hotels and Resorts manages the property.
“The Ilikai suites are Waikiki’s newest oceanfront accommodations,” said Elizabeth Churchill, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Aqua Hospitality and Aston Hotels & Resorts. “It is such an iconic resort. These new suites are elevating Hawaii’s condo resort stays to a new level.”
Each studio suite measures 500 square feet and boasts a 120-square-foot lanai. Nightly rates range from $600 to $800. A two-bedroom suite with 1,000 square feet of interior space and a 240-square-foot lanai costs $950 to $1,200 per night.
With the luxury suites, travel agents have a new high-end product to offer their discriminating clients, said Churchill.
“This resort complex is ideal for clients who have been seeking a more upscale vacation experience in Waikiki,” Churchill said. “The new suites cater to a wide range of travelers, which includes leisure travelers, corporate travelers and families interested in short or long stays that have the conveniences of a condo resort.”
