The experience begins before the big day at Ihilani Spa’s new Hoonanea Suite, a private setting designed for the exclusive use of intimate groups, including bridal showers. Spa associates stand ready to customize hair, manicure and pedicure treatments along with catered food and beverages.
Located adjacent to the spa’s lap pool, the Hoonanea Suite can also serve as a photogenic dressing area for the bride.
When it comes to the wedding location, the AAA Four Diamond award-winning resort offers three ceremony sites with ocean and garden views. Among them is the Lagoon Lawn, just steps from the ocean, which provides a beach wedding ambiance without the sand.
The Gazebo, surrounded by tropical flora and fauna, is recommended for the bride who wants to make a grand entrance along a zigzag pathway, leading to a covered open-air and intimate gazebo.
Or, couples can say “I do” at Lagoon Lawn Point, tucked between the main lawn and the white-sand beach, which provides a private oasis that caters to smaller ceremonies.
Makalii Bridal Collection features four integrated packages for every budget, including the simple, yet elegant, Hoku (Star) ceremony at Lagoon Lawn Point, which comes with a wedding officiant.
The Aa (Burning Brightly) package provides a choice of ceremony site, a butler who serves water or orange juice, bride and groom florals, a sound system, the use of grounds for picture-taking, a commemorative certificate and one hour of wedding coordination.
The Kapuahi (Sacred Fire) package includes the Aa package as well as a decorative arch, music, rose petals for the aisle and an oceanview room for one night.
The Hokulei (Star Wreath) adds to the Kapuahi package with either one night in the Makalii Bridal Suite or one night in two oceanview rooms, plus six chair posies and a Hawaiian conch shell blower.
Following the ceremony, couples have the option of holding a celebratory reception at one of the resort’s ballrooms.
