For discerning travelers seeking the latest in upscale Maui hotels, Residences at Kapalua Bay is positioning itself as the ideal getaway. Built on the former site of the iconic Kapalua Bay Hotel, it enjoys a 24-acre perch on the island’s northwest shore, and it distinguishes itself with a combination of luxury suite accommodations, customized experiences and added value.

The hotel’s 50 one-, two- and three-bedroom suites range in size from 1,250 to 2,400 square feet and feature full kitchens equipped with high-end appliances. They include dining areas, elegant bathrooms, washers and dryers, 44-inch televisions, free high-speed internet access and private lanais. Although the units are set up condominium-style, daily room cleaning and nightly turndown service are provided.

Additional selling points of Residences at Kapalua Bay include an 8,500-square-foot lagoon pool, dining at the Pool Grille, signature drinks at the Sunset Bar, Hawaiian cultural activities and a children’s program.

Residences at Kapalua Bay guests also have access to the Kapalua Spa and Fitness Center, with 45,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor health and wellness services along with a spa cafe, retail store and beauty salon. Other perks for guests include discounted greens fees on Kapalua Resort’s championship golf courses, free golf club and shoe rentals, gratis entrance to the Kapalua Beach Club and complimentary use of the Kapalua shuttle.

The new hotel “strives to offer the best value vacation stay” on the island, according to hotel manager David Hoffman. To that end, the hotel has created the My Kapalua Experience package, which allows clients to enhance their vacation with either two rounds of golf, two 50-minute massages or facials, an adventure for two on Kapalua Ziplines or a $300 dining and spa credit. The package also provides the fifth night free.

Residences at Kapalua Bay recently joined the Montage Hotels and Resorts portfolio, and in the spring of 2014 the hotel will be relaunched as Montage Kapalua Bay, said Hoffman.

“Montage has long sought out the perfect location for a hotel in Hawaii,” said Hoffman. “The property will be undergoing several improvements in the coming months that will enhance the service and facilities to reflect the Montage brand.”

Among the results of the multimillion-dollar upgrade will be the addition of a fine dining restaurant and an elegant new bar.

But clients shouldn’t wait until next year to book a stay at Residences at Kapalua Bay. It’s already proving to be one of Maui’s best high-end vacation values.
