As the official production partner of “Hawaii Five-0,” Starwood Hotels and Resorts Waikiki has been featured prominently on the hit CBS television show. As a result, more guests are booking Starwood’s Sheraton Waikiki, Moana Surfrider and Royal Hawaiian accommodations so they can see the show’s filming sites — and maybe its stars — up-close.
According to Kelly Sanders, Sheraton Waikiki’s area managing director, “Hawaii Five-0”’s scenic shots at the three hotels have helped keep demand high for Waikiki over the last several years.
“We often hear from guests how much they enjoy seeing the cast and crew filming at our properties,” Sanders said. “Seeing a little bit of Hollywood during their stay at Starwood Waikiki helps create indelible memories for our guests to take home with them and share their experiences with their family and friends.”
Some of the film sites for recent episodes of the show include the infinity-edge pool and RumFire restaurant at Sheraton Waikiki; Pookela Suite at Moana Surfrider; and the ocean lawn and porte cochere (covered entrance for vehicles) at Royal Hawaiian.
To capitalize on its celebrity status, Starwood Waikiki has renewed its “Hawaii Five-0” Stay and Play package for 2016. It’s good at the three aforementioned properties, as well as at Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, located one block from the beach. The package offers the best available rates based on occupancy and comes with a daily $50 resort credit. The offer is good through Dec. 25, 2016 (with a five-night minimum stay).
