The Westin Maui Resort & Spa has debuted a new signature
social experience, Unwind& A Westin Evening Ritual , featuring
the tastes, sights and sounds of Hawaii. The new ritual is
rolling-out across all 129 Westin Hotels & Resorts worldwide
and each hotel’s unique Unwind ritual will be tailored to the local
environment. Designed to bring new energy to its hotels, The Westin
Maui Resort & Spa Unwind ritual transforms the upper pool deck
into a gathering spot, encouraging guests to socialize.
Every evening at 5:30 p.m. a conch shell will sound throughout the
resort, announcing the beginning of Unwind. From 5:30 p.m. until
7:00 p.m. guests can partake in an evening ritual that combines
unique cultural activities with daring culinary offerings. From the
Beach Bar on the upper pool deck, guests will enjoy picturesque
sunsets, views of the Pacific Ocean, cool beverages, food and
enchanting hula dancing. While most Westin hotels are designating
their lobbies as the site for this ritual, The Westin Maui has
chosen an outdoor setting where guests can enjoy the warmth of
Maui’s tropical Hawaiian evening.
“Westin hopes to provide a richer guest experience, where guests
can indulge, socialize and maybe even learn a new skill to bring
home courtesy of each destination,” said Sue Brush, senior vice
president, Westin Hotels & Resorts. “If we can provide our
guests with a place to relax at the end of the day lift their
spirits and perhaps meet new people in a warm environment, we
believe we are doing our job well.”
In order to set the stage for its new signature evening rituals,
The Westin Maui Resort & Spa upper pool deck evolves from day
to evening through a variety of subtle sensory cues everything from
music, to scent, to lighting. Warm, natural lighting is dimmed at
the start of the evening while scented candles and tiki torches are
lit and carefully placed around the deck.
Located on 12 oceanfront acres directly on Kaanapali Beach, The
Westin Maui Resort & Spa is nestled between the Pacific Ocean
and the verdant West Maui Mountains. Each of the 758 guest rooms
and suites feature Westin’s signature Heavenly Baths and renowned
Heavenly Beds. Highlights of the tropical resort are the $5 million
luxury spa, magnificent aquatic playground with five pools and
waterslides, lush gardens, meandering streams, breathtaking
15-20-foot waterfalls, exotic wildlife and award-winning
cuisine.
