Step inside Palace Resorts' Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun's famous "Zona Hotelera," and you'll immediately understand why it has been designated Cancun's No. 1 all-inclusive resort by TripAdvisor's tough-to-impress crowd of online reviewers. Although I wasn't a booked guest at Le Blanc during my last trip to Cancun (I was a guest at The Grand at Moon Palace, another Palace Resorts property), I didn't let that stop me from carving out a little time to tour Le Blanc and experience its bliss-inducing BlancSpa.
Just as the adults-only resort feels isolated from the hustle and bustle of Cancun's tourist district, BlancSpa feels like its own secluded oasis, tucked away from the rest of the hotel's public spaces. The spa features 19 treatment suites __ including three master suites with hydrotherapy tubs, five indoor couples' suites, nine single suites and a singular Golden VIP suite.
While waiting for my 50-minute classic Serenity Massage (which retails for $173 for individuals or $381 for couples), I sipped refreshing hibiscus juice and enjoyed a warm, weighted heat-therapy pack that one of the therapists had delicately draped around my neck. Once inside the treatment room, I was offered a choice of aromatherapy scents (I went with lavender) and soft music (as an Enya fan, I was delighted to see that her soothing melodies were on offer).
Although I didn't make use of the spa's hydrotherapy area after my treatment, this holistic health ritual is available for guests booked at the spa. Other complimentary services include the use of a sauna, a steam room, showers, a Jacuzzi and a hydro-reflexology foot pool.
