Just in time for the winter travel season, the Barcelo Maya
Beach Resort in Mexico will open its luxury designed spa. The
all-inclusive resort’s new spa is garnished with Mayan influenced
architecture and equipped with European-style spa services.
Opening this month, the spa is situated in the garden area of the
complex, and treatment services include Swedish- and Mayan-style
massage, couples massage, flotation therapy, hydrotherapy and Vichy
showers. Clients can also enjoy the Mayan temazal lodge a
traditional Indian sweat lodge as well as eight outdoor cabins for
tropical massages and full beauty services, such as facials,
manicures, pedicures and hairstyling. In addition, a resting area
allows clients to relax near an indoor waterfall overlooking the
gardens.
The resort is also planning to offer spa packages in 2007.
For guests looking to break a sweat, adjacent to the spa is an
expanded fitness center with new cardiovascular equipment, such as
stairmasters, elliptical trainers and an Ultratile floor designed
for cushioning. The existing fitness center will now house the
weight and fitness room.
The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort encompasses more than a mile of
Caribbean beach protected by a natural coral reef and is surrounded
by a 500,000 square meter nature park. It is less than 50 miles
from the Cancun International Airport and in close proximity to the
ancient Mayan ruins of Tulum.
The resort is comprised of four all-inclusive hotels that
collectively offer nearly 2,000 guestrooms: the Premium Level
Barcelo Maya Tropical and Colonial Beach Hotels, as well as the
upscale Barcelo Maya Beach and Caribe hotels. All four hotels offer
guestrooms influenced by both classical and new-age Mayan
architecture with a private terrace or balcony, air conditioning
with individual climate control, in-room safes, ceiling fans, a
coffeemaker, bathrobes, a complimentary mini-bar and satellite
TV.
