Orient-Express’s famed Maroma Resort and Spa is now offering a
series of yoga retreats that bring together the “om” and the
“ahhhhh” at its luxurious Kinan Spa. Based on overall wellness, the
retreats include daily progressive yoga classes (a combination of
Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Iyengar), meditation sessions, spa
treatments, a healthy gourmet cooking class, and a menu featuring
healthy options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Located on the Riviera Maya along a stretch of white sand beach,
the 65-room boutique hotel and spa was built based on Sacred Maya
geometry, which ensures positive energy flow. Its Kinan Spa
provides a sanctuary not only for spa treatments, but for
meditation and yoga as well. A rooftop yoga pavilion captures
tropical breezes, and 360 degree views of the ocean and jungle.
The retreat schedule begins with morning meditation, followed by
Yoga and then a spa breakfast. Afternoons will provide a variety of
excursions, beach time, and a daily customized spa treatment with
evening meditation and/or yoga theory sessions prior to dinner.
Including five-night accommodations and airport transfers, rates
are from $3,100 per person, single occupancy (excluding tax and
gratuity). Double occupancy rates start at $4,475.
Yoga retreats are limited to a maximum of ten people in order to
ensure personalized attention. The property is currently taking
reservations for the August 24 - 29, October 19 - 24, November 9 -
14, May 3 - 8, 2007, and June 7 - 12, 2007 retreats. Private
retreats can also be scheduled with a minimum of four people, with
pricing available upon request.
Guests can indulge in the ultimate by staying in one of the
property’s oceanfront Sian Nah suites, which include a private
in-room spa treatment area, fitness area with equipment, living
room, bedroom, spacious outdoor terrace with private plunge pool,
lounge area and dining palapa. Sian Nah Suite yoga retreat packages
are from $6,640 single occupancy; double occupancy rates start at
$8,015 (excluding tax and gratuity).
The new Sian Nah suites complement the wellness offerings of
Maroma’s Kinan Spa (Mayan for the “source of life”), a
7,000-square-foot oasis that showcases a full range of Mayan
influenced spa services in unique environments.
