Longing to hit the beach this winter? Yearning for an
eco-adventure experience of a lifetime? Wait no more. The Mexico
Tourism Board (MTB) is on the road again, sharing the warmth and
allure of Mexico to destinations across North America through Dec.
10. Reaching over 2.2 million people last year, the Mexico Mobile
Displays campaign is at it again.
Creating a massive media stir and popularity among the travel
industry, the clear glass Promobuses feature a variety of themes
from seaside spa displays to eco-adventure tourism scenes. The
beach-spa buses are filled with sand, palm trees and real-life
spaesque visuals. The eco-adventure displays highlight Mexico’s
abundant flora and fauna.
Promobuses are traveling throughout the United States and Canada,
hitting a total of 18 locations in just eight weeks. Among the
Western U.S. stops are Colorado Springs, Denver, Portland, Salt
Lake City, Seattle, Vancouver and Victoria. A calendar for
scheduled cities is available at www.visitmexico.com.
“Due to the tremendous popularity of the Mexico Mobile Displays’
last year when we first launched the concept of the Promobuses, we
have decided to expand the idea to not only include an element of
spas within the beach scenes, but also show North Americans why
Mexico has become increasingly popular among eco-tourism and
adventure travelers,” explained Francisco Ortiz, CEO of the Mexico
Tourism Board.
“Offering travelers an array of attractions, Mexico is home to some
of the most luxurious and renowned spas in the world, as well as 18
million acres of ecological preserves, 147 protected areas, and
dozens of biosphere reserves and national parks that have attracted
an abundance of eco-tourism enthusiasts each year,” he added.
For its unique creativity and consumer impact, the Promobus
innovation and the MTB have recently been awarded Gold Performance
in the Alternative Media category by the Iberian American
Advertising Festival (FIAP). This year, 23 participating countries
and 4,800 entries competed.
The MTB brings together the resources of federal and state
governments, municipalities and private companies to promote
Mexico's tourism attractions and destinations internationally.
Created in 1999, it is Mexico’s tourism promotion agency, and its
participants include members of both the private and public
sectors.
