Wondering what’s up south of the border these days?
Travel professionals across the U.S. can get all the scoop at the
Mexico Travel Marketplace. These events unite major tourism
suppliers and tour operators with an audience of travel
professionals in Mexico’s most popular markets.
Comprehensive events are being coordinated and
produced by Oregon-based Destination Ventures, Ltd., best known as
the organizer of the “Magic of Mexico” seminar series (sponsored by
the Mexico Tourism Board), as well as the Cancun Tourism
Institute.
“Agency Owners/Managers are seeking quality
interactions with suppliers,” noted Greg Custer, owner of
Destination Ventures. “The days of hauling off a pile of brochures
while moving from tabletop to tabletop are headed the way of the
printed airline ticket. As retail agents refocus their businesses
around new sales models, new supplier relationships are
needed.”
For agent attendees, the 2006 program will offer a
highly interactive experience, face-to-face supplier meetings,
sit-down dinner and classroom-style two-hour seminar.
Show organizers plan to implement a number of new
enrollment guidelines including a pre-event Mexico sales
questionnaire and mandatory IATAN/CLIA/NACOA/CTO identification. As
a result, exhibitors should benefit from a smaller, yet better
qualified audience.
The 12 U.S. events are sponsored by various Mexican
airlines and tourism boards, including the State of Campeche,
Puerto Vallarta, Vallarta-Nayarit and Loreto.
In March, the Marketplace is scheduled for March 13
in Chicago, March 14 in Minneapolis, March 15 in Dallas and March
16 in Houston. April’s schedule features Denver on April 24,
Phoenix on April 25, San Diego on April 26 and Costa Mesa on April
27. For May, the event is set for May 8 in Sacramento, May 9 in San
Francisco, May 10 in Portland and May 12 in Seattle.
Agents can enroll via e-mail or by phone.
