The ambient sounds of global rhythms will be heard in the lobby,
hallways and guest rooms of The Westin Resort & Spa, Los Cabos
as part of a new Sensory Welcome music program set to debut later
this year.
In partnership with Westin Hotels & Resorts, eMusic.com Inc.
will develop innovative, digital music for the 124 Westin hotels
and resorts located around the world. The music will be heard in
various parts of the hotel in order to enhance the guest
experience.
“Music has the power to transport people to different places on
a spiritual level,” said Patrick Sanchez, the property’s general
manager. “This program will create an inspiring soundtrack for our
guests as they take in the luxurious offerings of the resort and
the scenic coastal beauty of Land’s End.”
The Westin’s signature music program is being designed by
“eMusicologist” Richard Gehr, a renowned global music columnist and
former editor at the Los Angeles Reader, Spin magazine and
Sonicnet.com. The music Gehr is compiling is a relaxing and
energizing mix that seeks to unite Westin properties across
geographies, cultures, architectural styles and climates. The sound
can best be described as “global contemporary.”
Standing as a tribute to modern Mexican architecture inspired by
the famous Arch, The Westin Resort & Spa, Los Cabos features
243 guestrooms, four restaurants, diverse bars and lounges, seven
swimming pools, The Spa (a member of the Starwood Spa Collection),
a WestinWORKOUT Powered by Reebok gym, tennis courts, a nine-hole
seaside putting challenge and an endless array of outdoor
