American Cruise Lines has unveiled plans to add seven new vessels to its fleet by the end of 2026. The expansion includes six ships from the Project Blue series and a new American Riverboat.

"The domestic cruise industry is the healthiest it has ever been,” said Charles B. Robertson, president & CEO of American Cruise Lines. “Demand for modern river products, new small ships and unique exploration in the U.S.A. continues to grow.”

Three of the seven new vessels have yet to be named. The company plans to release additional details about each boat over the summer. The new American Riverboat will feature design elements similar to its sister ships, with some new features aimed at elevating industry standards.

By 2025, American Cruise Lines expects to operate 21 small ships, increasing to 24 ships in 2026. All vessels will exclusively offer 100% U.S. itineraries along domestic rivers and coasts. Chesapeake Shipbuilding in Salisbury, Maryland, has been contracted to build all seven new ships.
