Christmastime in the City

Dec 19, 2006

Set at Embarcadero Center, across from the Ferry Building, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco kicked off the holiday season with a host of plans and packages.

Clients looking for last-minute gifts can book Hyatt’s Holiday Shopping Package, featuring deluxe accommodations for one night, free valet parking, two-for-one breakfast in the Eclipse Cafe, two passes for Embarcadero Center’s ice skating rink, Macy’s Union Square discount booklet and discount vouchers for stores at Embarcadero Center. Starting at $209, this package is valid through Dec. 30.

Additionally, the hotel is offering two New Year’s Eve packages, which feature the Hyatt Regency San Francisco’s grand finale to the holiday activities.

The “Crystal Ball” New Year’s Eve bash one of Northern California’s largest celebrations features multiple stages of live entertainment, including KISS Radio’s Michael Erickson’s Record Dance Party and Light Show; a Motown dance party with Pride & Joy, a popular local R&B band; “Jerry’s Jazz Club” with a sultry Latin trio; disco room dance party; and comedy from Last Comic Standing’s Chris Voth, as well as comedians Gary Cannon, Lee Levine and Steve Mazan. Other activities will include fortune telling, taro card readings and psychics.

Admission for the “Crystal Ball” is $125 per person, including two drink coupons; VIP upgrades are an additional $50 and include entrance to the rooftop Sky Lounge and VIP Lounge. Dinner options are available in the hotel’s Garden Room (dinner buffet for $45 per person) and revolving Equinox Restaurant (6 p.m. seating for three-course prix fix dinner with one glass of champagne for $90 per person).

Clients can also opt for the Sky Lounge package, which includes deluxe accommodations, two tickets to the Crystal Ball, two drink tickets per person, with exclusive access to the VIP Lounge and the rooftop Sky Lounge and breakfast buffet for two on New Year’s Day. The package is priced at $694-$749, depending on room type. The more modest VIP package includes all of the above, with the exception of access to the Sky Lounge and is priced at $644-$699. Additional nights for the evenings of Dec. 30 or Jan. 1 are $89 with the purchase of one of the two New Year’s Eve packages.
For a calmer setting, Hyatt Regency’s 13 Views introduced a “new fashioned” contemporary tea service for the holidays.
Patrons can choose from a selection of assorted flavored coffees, cappuccinos, lattes and teas, while food items include California rolls, dim sum, assorted pastries and chocolate-covered fruit. Tea will be served daily through December 23 from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. for $24 per person with children 12 and under half price.

In addition to the holiday packages and menus, Hyatt is showcasing special entertainment options throughout the season.

The hotel has been illuminated with over 300,000 lights, which cascade down the hotel’s 17-story atrium lobby near a 45-foot tree. Additionally, Hyatt Regency’s renowned Snow Village will once again be the centerpiece for the season, complementing the hotel’s 40-foot high Eclipse geodesic sphere and reflecting pool. The display features more than 3,000 handcrafted ceramic collectible pieces, including musical carousels, ice skating rinks, ski slopes, gondolas, chalets, trains and many more limited edition pieces.
