Arizona has many options for those looking for a little inner peace
or a simple getaway, though it might be difficult choosing exactly
how to pursue your health and well being with new spas opening and
the classics getting remakes.
Here’s a look at what the resorts are offering in the Grand
Canyon State. (All the resorts listed here offer agent
commissions.)
Camelback Inn
The Marriott’s Spa at Camelback Inn, in Scottsdale, just
completed a multimillion-dollar renovation aimed at giving visitors
a relaxing environment from the moment they enter the lobby.
“The entire facility has been restructured to give guests an
open, panoramic view,” said Tara Clark, a spokesperson for the spa.
“It offers a seamless flow from when you get there to when you
leave.”
The spa has added five new treatment rooms for more services,
including six new body treatments and five new facials.
The Camelback Inn is both a day spa and a destination. Typical
packages include overnights and a selection of activities for
out-of-town visitors.
But the spa has gained a reputation among the well-heeled in
Phoenix, who now make up half of the spa’s visitors.
“There are quite a few locals, along with vacationers, and
business people,” Clark said. “It’s a good mix.”
A new Spa Escape package starts at $369 per night and includes
deluxe accommodations and a $100 credit for use at the spa or for
golfing.

Miraval Resort and Spa
A new program offered by Miraval Resort and Spa of Tucson
provides visitors insight into their personal relationships by
working with horses.
The resort’s “Equine Experience” gives guests the opportunity to
groom, saddle, bridle and ride horses at the instruction of the
resident horse-whisperer.
The program “facilitates self-discovery, revealing patterns of
learned behaviors that either enhance or hinder the flow of
personal and professional relationships,” according to the
resort.
Another new program looks to provide guests with a bit of
insight into something more personal what goes on in the
bedroom.
The Four Days to Magnificent Sex program is targeted to couples
(one of the programs is over Valentine’s Day weekend), and is
designed for couples to “enhance their sexual intimacy.”
“Great sex is one of the most powerful forces in life,” said Dr.
Lana Holstein, the sex therapist in charge of the new program, “a
healing force, as well as a physical vehicle for love.”

American reservation nestled by the Gila River outside Phoenix. The

freely around this section of the Sonora Desert.
The Sheraton Wild Horse Spa and Resort has a 17,000-square-foot
spa. There is also a golf course, tennis courts and the Koli
Equestrian Center, which offers riding lessons and trail rides.
