Alderbrook Resort and Spa is celebrating summer with a July 4 celebration and value-added accommodation package.
On July 1, the resort presents its Thunder on the Canal fireworks show, preceded by afternoon entertainment. A highlight of the festivities is the first annual Oyster Eating Challenge, where five contestants compete in a five minute challenge. The winner receives two nights lodging, two spa treatments and $400 in dining credit at the Alderbrook. Entry information is available at www.kmas.com.
July 3 brings Hoodsport's Independence Day fireworks celebration. Clients can view the aerial show from the canal while riding on Alderbrook's own cruise boat, Lady Alderbrook, for $25 per person including snacks.
Through Sept. 1, clients can book Alderbrook's Summer Bliss package for weeknight stays. The deal includes a 20 percent discount on dining in the hotel, 20 percent off spa charges, a bottle of wine and valet parking. For bookings of at least three nights, the package also includes a $30 gas card, and four-night stays get a one-hour kayak rental. Stay five nights and the fifth night is free.
