Napili Kai Beach Resort, located on ten beachfront acres on Maui’s western shore, has completed a six-month $4 million renovation of its oceanfront Puna II building.
Puna II is made up of 20 air-conditioned studios and one-bedroom suites overlooking the sea and bordered by lawns and tropical gardens. The project included refurbishment to the building exterior as well as complete renovation and upgrade of all kitchens with cherry cabinetry, granite countertops and upscale kitchenware.
Baths in the guest units now feature cherry cabinetry and slab and tumbled-marble showers with dual showerheads. Custom furnishings impart the feeling of a gracious Hawaiian home, including rattan armchairs, marble and rattan coffee and side tables, and bamboo-framed works by local artists. Lanais are furnished with overstuffed armchairs and ottomans, and each unit has a 37-inch flat-screen television.
Puna II studios offer 450-680 square feet of living space with one bedroom, one bath and a kitchen. One-bedroom suites measuring 830-870 square feet feature a bedroom, living room, kitchen and two baths. Rack rates for Puna II units range from $390 to $605 per night.
Napili Kai Beach Resort is made up of 163 hotel rooms, studios and one- and two-bedroom suites in 11 low-rise plantation-style buildings. Amenities include four swimming pools, a large oceanview whirlpool spa, two putting greens (one for children, one for adults), shuffleboard courts, fitness room, boutique day spa and guest barbecue facilities. It's offering a variety of value-oriented specials and programs for 2010.
