The San Diego Tourism Authority has announced the return of its Kids Free San Diego promotion, offering families potential savings of up to $1,000 through more than 100 participating venues across the region.

The month-long initiative, now in its 14th year, provides free admission for children 12 years and younger at attractions, complimentary kids' meals at restaurants and hotel perks throughout San Diego County.

"October is one of the best times to visit San Diego," said Daniel Kuperschmid, president and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority. "The weather is perfect, the crowds are lighter, and with Kids Free San Diego, families can enjoy incredible experiences at a great value. We love that this program helps families create lasting memories while celebrating everything that makes our city special."

According to the tourism authority, one in five visitors to the San Diego region travel with children, making it a significant family destination.
