What
Signature Travel Network has announced Embark, its new training program for travel advisors. Intended to support the recruitment and development of new talent, the initiative will particularly benefit travel agency owners.

Why It Matters
The comprehensive yearlong program consists of best practices and strategies regarding recruiting, coaching and training new agents, as well as a five-day Sales and Marketing Bootcamp that will take place at Signature’s El Segundo, Calif., headquarters. Employees and independent contractors will undergo different versions of this intensive event; afterward, participants should expect post-event training and ongoing coaching and mentoring.

Fast Facts
- All potential members of Embark must also be members of Signature and work for an agency affiliated with Signature.

- All potential members usually have less than three years’ experience in the industry.

What They Are Saying
“The Embark program is a comprehensive approach to solving the challenge of bringing new talent into the industry,” said Nolan Burris, talent development consultant for Signature. “One of the biggest challenges facing anyone joining the industry is the need to become successful and productive as quickly as possible. With common circumstances like unprecedented college debt, millennials don’t have the luxury of waiting three to five years to generate adequate earnings. Not surprisingly, agency owners are also eager to speed up the pace of new talent development.”
