WhatCruise agency and leisure travel company World Travel Holdings has launched the Travel Safety Program, a new training course for travel advisors who serve customers across the company’s 40 brands, as well as members of its agency franchise brands (CruiseOne and Dream Vacations) and host agency (Cruises Inc.).
The multi-part program is designed to educate agents about traveling safely in a COVID-19 world, covering topics including health and safety best practices while traveling; travel protection health policies; safety protocols in place at resorts, airlines and cruises; and how to address customer concerns in a variety of possible scenarios. World Travel Holdings notes that additional phases of the training will address how to sell in the current environment and how to market with empathy. There will also be updated policies and guidelines for when cruising returns.
Additional benefits of the training program include special Travel Safety landing pages on consumer websites along with sales and marketing tools designed to assist advisors in planning safe vacations for their clients.
Why It MattersAdvisors who complete the first two phases of the training (which are required in order to earn the program’s “Travel Safety Verified” designation) will be better equipped to provide clients with practical guidance for traveling during the pandemic, boosting customer confidence in booking. Understanding the specifics of their partner suppliers’ safety protocols will also help agents answer client questions or address concerns. With additional training still to come, advisors can stay up to date on best practices in an extremely fluid travel landscape.
