Next year will mark Royal Caribbean International’s 25th year of cruising in Alaska, an occasion celebrated with a great variety of offerings for the 2014 season.
Radiance of the Seas and Rhapsody of the Seas — which were revitalized in 2011 and 2012, respectively — will take to the Alaskan waters with 34 sailings, including seven-night itineraries from Vancouver, B.C., and Seattle.
“Royal Caribbean has been unfolding the wonders of the Alaskan frontier for a quarter-century, and we continue to deliver this amazing destination like no other cruise line,” said Lisa Bauer, executive vice president of global marketing and sales. “Guests can explore this awe-inspiring destination while sailing onboard our recently revitalized ships and enjoy Royal Caribbean’s friendly and engaging Gold Anchor service from every staff and crew member.”
Ports of call on the itineraries offer a variety of experiences, from ziplining at Icy Strait Point to dog-sledding on the Mendenhall Glacier. In addition, guests will be able to take advantage of combined vacation offers for a closer look at Alaska’s interior.
“To further immerse themselves, vacationers can choose an unforgettable Royal Caribbean Alaska cruise-tour combining the best of land and sea in the region and without having to worry about any of the planning,” said Bauer.
Cruise tours include a sailing on Radiance of the Seas combined with a three- to six-night land tour, with Royal Caribbean handling all of the organization.
An Alaska cruise on either ship can also be combined with a pre- or post-cruise tour in the Canadian Rockies or the Okanagan Valley, B.C., a new option for 2014.
Radiance of the Seas will alternate north- and southbound itineraries from Vancouver and Seward starting May 9, cruising the Inside Passage and the Hubbard Glacier. Rhapsody of the Seas will sail seven-night roundtrip itineraries from Seattle to Sawyer Glacier cruising the Inside Passage.
