Following the announcement that Solo Oceanview Staterooms will soon be available on a number of its existing ships, Oceania Cruises is making even more changes to its existing fleet. The line is next planning to dramatically refurbish its pair of 1,210-guest ships — Oceania Riviera and Oceania Marina — and reintroduce them in December 2022 and November 2023, respectively.

“At Oceania Cruises, we continue to raise the bar and elevate the guest experience at every opportunity,” said Howard Sherman, president and CEO of Oceania Cruises. “Whether it’s innovative new culinary concepts, immersive new destination experiences or presenting our guests with ships that are not just better, but better than new, Oceania Cruises sets the standard by which others are judged.”

Cabins and Suites

First and foremost, all of the staterooms and suites on both Marina and Riviera will receive a floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall redesign to brighten them up with new custom furnishings, exotic stones, polished wood finishes, sophisticated millwork, sparkling fixtures and designer accessories.

The ships will soon “boast a radiant new glow reminiscent of a sun-dappled Newport estate, yet with the warmth and joie de vivre of a chic Parisian apartment in which each element has been carefully chosen to create a comforting sense of home,” according to the line.

Oceania promises 291-square-foot Concierge Level Veranda Staterooms and Veranda Staterooms, which will emerge as the largest standard staterooms afloat. Cabin bathrooms will be even more spacious thanks to oversize showers, and other details will extend to updated lighting and plentiful electrical outlets and USB charging ports.

Public Venues

What’s more, the fine-dining venues for which Oceania is well known will also be elevated onboard, starting with the Grand Bar, where guests will be able to enjoy custom cocktails in the restyled space. The Grand Dining Room will then highlight buttery leather armchairs, an opulent chandelier and refined carpets.

Joining Terrace Cafe and Waves Grill outside will be a Trattoria serving wood-fired pizzas and grilling up Italian favorites, along with salads and desserts.

Altogether, lounges, bars and restaurants will be refreshed, and Polo Grill specifically will reflect a more contemporary look, pairing rich leather with new carpeting, wall coverings and draperies. Horizons will be similarly lightened for enhanced luxury.

Debut Itineraries for Marina and Riviera

When Riviera re-emerges, it will set sail on a 16-day Mediterranean, Atlantic and Caribbean voyage from Rome to Miami on Dec. 7, 2022, followed by seven- to 14-day cruises from Miami to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America. The ship will then return to Europe in late March 2023 and head to the Far East in late 2023 and early 2024.

Later, Marina will debut on Nov. 13, 2023, with a seven-day sailing from Barcelona to Lisbon, before crossing to Miami for a season of South America voyages starting on Dec. 3, 2023.
