Family Vacation Journal: Summer Vacation in Playa del Carmen

For summer vacation, I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. I visited with my mom, dad, sister and friends from school. I stayed at a beautiful hotel called The Fives Azul Beach Resort. Our hotel was cool because it had monkeys that lived on property. I would look for the monkeys on the way to breakfast every morning. The room we stayed in was awesome; it had its own rooftop hot tub and an amazing view.

During the trip, I went to three theme parks: Xcaret Park, Xenses Park and Xel-Ha Park. Xenses had my favorite ziplines and waterparks. I loved looking for Xel-fie at all the parks. (A Xel-fie is a camera that automatically takes your photo in cool places in the park by scanning your park bracelet.)

However, the best part of my vacation was going to La Casa de Rosa, a restaurant at The Fives Azul. At La Casa de Rosa, I learned how to make salsa, tortillas, salad and guacamole. We learned all about Mexican culture and how to cook Mexican dishes. All the food I made was delicious. I had a great time on my vacation to Mexico, and I can’t wait to go back.
