Kauai Presents Golfers With Budget-Friendly Greens

Mar 04, 2009

Celebrated as the Garden Isle, Kauai is indeed renowned for its lush vegetation and sumptuous greenery of its natural flora. And now, Kauai is enticing visitors with its extensive offerings of another type of “green” — the golfing green. The island, which has long been regarded as an ideal destination for golf-and-resort getaways, is now home to top golf courses and resorts that are more affordable than ever.

Value packages currently being offered by Kauai Lagoons Golf Club, Puakea Golf Course, Poipu Bay Golf Course and Princeville’s Prince Course enable vacationers to enjoy the island’s luxurious golfing amenities while staying within their budget.

Kauai Lagoons Golf Club, located next to the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club and overlooking the beautiful Kalapaki Bay, is currently offering its No Airlines Hassle Golf Package. The package seeks to take away the physical and monetary inconveniences of flying with one’s golf equipment by providing golfers with premium rental golf clubs, shoes and golf balls. For $175 plus tax ($160 plus tax for Marriott guests), golfers can enjoy a day on the course’s 18-hole green without hassling over the transportation of their own golfing provisions.

Puakea Golf Course, designed by esteemed golf course architect Robin Nelson to provide the best panoramic views of Mt. Haupu, is offering special rates for mid-morning and mid-afternoon play. Golfers can enjoy the course for $79 plus tax after 11 a.m. each day and can play for $59 plus tax after 2 p.m.

For golfers looking to take advantage of the savings associated with multiple-round packages, the Poipu Bay Golf Course delivers. For $410 plus tax ($325 plus tax for guests at the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa), golfers can play three rounds on the course, practice on the driving range, and utilize a shared cart. Five-round, 10-round, and afternoon discount packages are also available.

Famous for its quiet luxury, the Princeville’s Prince Course is offering its 2009 Tease for Two Package. For $275 plus tax, this package features a day on the Princeville golfing green and a massage at the Princeville Spa. Ideal for couples — one person plays golf while the other indulges in a massage — the Tease for Two Package enables each guest to treat himself/herself to a small luxury that is as sweet as it is affordable.
