From birds-eye views of diverse landscapes to insights into Maui’s history and culture, Maui zipline tours offer an exhilarating new perspective on the island.

Companies take every precaution to make sure their zipline rides are smooth and safe. Before each tour, experienced employees present detailed instructions and keep a careful eye on participants throughout the excursion. Zipline staffers usually have positive personalities, and their upbeat approach eases any nerves in the group.

The following five zipline companies do a great job of helping travelers soar over the Valley Isle.

Flyin Hawaiian Zipline
The island’s longest zipline course, this tour whisks guests over two and a half miles in west Maui. The eight-line trek ranges from a 250-foot-long warm-up to a 3,600-foot-long finale. Along the way, participants learn about the environment give back to it by planting native flora, underscoring the company’s dedication to preserving the natural landscape.

Kapalua Ziplines
During this four-hour tour, guests soar over forests, waterfalls and pineapple fields in the west Maui mountains. Seven ziplines enable clients to experience the activity with side-by-side rides. The course includes a 360-foot-long suspension bridge — Hawaii’s longest — and a 3,000-square-foot observation deck standing 1,400 feet high.

Maui Zipline
Ages five and up can take part in this intro-level, family-oriented zipline course. Five side-by-side lines from 300-900 feet long run above the lush gardens of the Maui Tropical Plantation attraction. Guides chat about the flora, fauna and culture of the island during the two-hour tour, which ends with an aerial glide over a lagoon.

Piiholo Ranch Zipline
Boasting Hawaii’s longest side-by-side zipline, this upcountry Maui company has six types of daily tours. The options include a one-hour, three-line tour and a five-line extravaganza ending with a half-mile-long ride 600 feet off the ground. Clients can book an extreme tour that combines zipping with climbing adventures on a 42-foot-high tower.

Skyline Eco-Adventures
The first zipline company in the U.S., Skyline has two Maui sites. Its eight-line Kaanapali tour in the West Maui Mountains provides dramatic ocean and mountain views. Its five-line Haleakala tour regales guests with a swinging bridge and conversations about the area’s history, culture and nature, making it a standout among Maui zipline tours.
