The Sky’s The Limit With Blue Sky Tours

Feb 02, 2006

Talk about sky-high delivery Milwaukee-based Blue Sky Tours now offers retail travel agents the ability to select from more Hawaii flights at lower prices than available from any other source. As a result, clients will receive the best combination of price and schedule.

The expanded flight selection applies to all contract and published fares Blue Sky Tours sells to Hawaii. The wholesaler offers contract fares on more airlines than any other traditional Hawaii tour operator, including American, ATA, Aloha, Continental, Delta, Hawaiian, Island Air, Northwest and United.

According to Dennis Odom, vice president of Blue Sky Tours, the technology is extremely powerful. “This is a breakthrough tool that will give retail agent users a real advantage,” he said. “Retail agents can now offer their clients more availability on more flights.”

Odom continued, “Our tests prove retail agents will find flights clients will not be able to find on their own. And, they will find flights other Hawaii sellers do not offer to retail agents.”

Odom explained that the Blue Sky systems is better due to its ability to offer more options on itineraries with connections on flights to or from Hawaii, and on itineraries with multiple islands.

This service is available to retail agents booking via phone, via Blue Sky Tours’ Web site and via XML connection to Blue Sky Tours. “Blue Sky Tours only sells through retail travel agents, so it is essential we give them the tools to beat the competition,” Odom remarked. “This is such a tool. This will mean more Hawaii sales in less time for retail travel agents.”

When making reservations by phone, Blue Sky agents will offer all the options, from the best routings and lowest class of service to the lowest published fares. It’s all accomplished in one easy step.

Agents booking on the Web can be assured the best combination of price and schedule. Every on-line booking is checked for better schedules and lower classes of service, guaranteeing each booking is the best value.

Blue Sky Steps Up To Runaway Assistance

With the January announcement that Runaway Tours will cease operations, Blue Sky Tours has offered to assist travel agents looking to convert Runaway Tours bookings. Blue Sky pricing is traditionally less expensive than other Hawaii sellers, so converted bookings will be priced at Blue Sky Tours’ rate.

“We are sorry to see such a great company exit the industry,” commented Odom. “We do, however, understand the urgency of this situation, and want to help travel agents take care of their client’s needs.”

Travel agents interested in converting existing Runaway reservations to Blue Sky must fax or e-mail a copy of the confirmed Runaway Tours booking to contacts listed below. Blue Sky Tours has trained the entire reservations, air and support desks to quickly and smoothly convert any bookings. Once a reservation has been received, Blue Sky agents will call the retail agent to confirm receipt of the itinerary and finalize the booking. Blue Sky Tours will work with airlines and hotels to assure space is confirmed.

All normal Blue Sky Tours booking and payment policies will apply. Agents must contact Runaway directly to request a refund of any deposits.
