Hotel Review: Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun

Nov 24, 2019
Hotel Review: Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun

I’ve never enjoyed the music so much in a bathroom that I didn’t want to leave the shower. But the Bluetooth and sound system at the 156-room Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun — the newest accommodation category at Iberostar Selection Cancun — was so amazing that I would have been happy to stay there for hours (even though there was a gorgeous beach and pool waiting outside).

State-of-the-art Bluetooth is just one of the enticing features at the adults-only Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun, which debuted in November 2018 as a newly constructed component at Iberostar Selection Cancun. Guests staying here receive an array of extra amenities while also enjoying access to the all-inclusive features at the main property. In many ways, it’s the best of both worlds: a haven for grown-ups with exclusive dining and entertainment options, as well as free access to the large-scale features of a big all-inclusive resort that’s just steps away.

Upon arrival to the main Iberostar lobby, I was shuttled by golf cart to the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun, where the Caribbean Sea provides a stunning backdrop for the stylish, nautically themed dedicated lobby.

Guestrooms at this new property are equally bright and modern, with clean white walls and artwork that depicts the beauty of coral. The high-tech lighting system — easily controlled from a central console above the nightstand — includes under-bed lights that make it look like the beds are floating.

Bathrooms are stocked with more amenities and different brands than the main hotel. Products are by L’Occitane, and separate water closets and large showers with sliding doors allow natural light to pour into the shower and bathroom.

All guestrooms have a stunning oceanfront view, and mine had an especially inviting balcony with a tub. Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun also has its own adults-only beach club, swimming pool and two special dining options: an elegantly designed buffet restaurant with international cuisine, and a snack bar.

Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Cancun clients can also dine at all the other Iberostar Selection Cancun eateries, which include five restaurants that serve tasty and sophisticated cuisine ranging from Mexican and Japanese to French menu options. Guests can also splash around the main property’s expansive pool areas, work out at the fitness center or reserve a soothing treatment at the spa. The 18-hole Iberostar Selection Cancun Golf Club, designed by Isao Aoki, is another selling point for travelers in the mood for testing their skills on the greens.

“This is a modern hotel concept for guests to enjoy and find everything they need without having to leave the resort,” said Rafael Carmona, the company’s director of operations for Mexico. "Considering everything you get, the value is unbelievable. Guests will be excited, and people will be talking about the effect that the hotel has. You can’t get more of a wow factor than standing in the lobby and seeing the ocean. The dining experience, the service and the personalized touch people will receive are differentiators.”
