If you’ve never stayed at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Golf & Spa Resort in Cabo San Lucas, you might not notice the multimillion-dollar changes.

After all, that’s the way it’s supposed to be. The new on-site, resort-within-a-resort The Towers at Pacifica, which will open later this year, don’t tower over anything. Instead, they look as though they’ve been there all along.

The differences, however, are noticeable from the inside. The 47 guestrooms and suites in The Towers at Pacifica draw inspiration from their desert-meets-beach setting. Suites will offer a spacious living and dining room area, complete with a table that seats four and an eye-catching Edison-bulb chandelier. Wood tones and creams prevail, but fun pops of color will be added by pillows on the sofa and the king-size bed.

Each bathroom will feature a large tub, a walk-in shower with a rainfall showerhead and a vanity with one sink. The toilet will be separated by a frosted glass door, allowing more than one person to use the space and still have some privacy.

But visitors don’t come to Cabo San Lucas to spend time inside. All Towers guestrooms will have a sunset view, compliments of the spacious balcony or patio that will stretch alongside the room. Guests can also take in views of the Pacific Ocean and the resort’s lively pool area from all Towers rooms.

Perhaps the biggest selling point for many guests will be the 24-hour butler service. Each suite will come with its own dedicated butler, trained by the British Butler Institute. Pre-arrival emails to guests will cover everything from pillow selection to dinner reservations and spa treatments. Once clients arrive, their butler will attend to any and all of their needs.

The Towers at Pacifica will also include a lounge, a gym and a restaurant. The addition will bring the adults-only, all-inclusive property’s overall room and suite count to 201.

Along with expanding structurally, the resort is adding a number of complimentary activities. During the weekly Hook & Cook, guests are given fishing poles and hands-on instruction from veteran Cabo San Lucas anglers. What’s reeled in is used by the resort’s “Investigative Chef” Luis Gonzalez to create dishes at a portable ceviche bar in the sand.

“You stay here in Baja, you need to taste Baja,” Gonzalez said.

If the fish aren’t biting, the chef has fresh back-up supplies on hand. Gonzalez also holds weekly beachside clambakes, roasting Mexican mollusks over bonfires built in the sand. For the mixology crowd, a Guided Mezcal Tasting Experience is offered poolside twice weekly.

The 2.5-mile stretch of beach at the resort is not safe for swimming. Guests looking for access to the water can take a complimentary shuttle to the resort’s sister properties, Pueblo Bonito Rose Resort & Spa and Pueblo Bonito Los Cabos Beach Resort, located on swimmable Medano Beach.

The Towers at Pacifica will officially open Dec. 22. The property is accepting advance reservations.
