The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach is already one of Oahu’s classiest visitor addresses. And come October, it will up the ante with the opening of a second tower that boasts an array of amenities that clients can enjoy, courtesy of an introductory, value-added promotion.
Called Diamond Head Tower, the second wing is significant for travel agents and their discerning clients, says Doug Chang, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach.
“Travel agents are always on the lookout for the latest product, especially in a popular location like Waikiki,” Chang said. “The opening of the Diamond Head Tower is the crowning touch as we celebrate the completion of Waikiki’s newest luxury resort.”
The property, which pays 10 percent commission to agents, is composed of residential-style ownership units that can be rented by vacationing non-owners. Its first wing, the 38-story Ewa Tower, opened in 2016 with 307 chic accommodations. With the upcoming addition of 245 new units in the Diamond Head Tower, the hotel will lay claim to more suites than any resort on Oahu. Each of its studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom dwellings face the sea, which means guests are guaranteed to have ocean views.
Pools, Meetings and Restaurants
When it comes online, the new tower will offer a second, larger resort pool and deck, making The Ritz-Carlton Residences the only Waikiki hotel with two infinity pools. Perched on the eighth floor, they will be the highest pools in the area.

At the same time, the Diamond Head Tower is dedicating 2,500 square feet to meetings and gatherings. The airy, light-filled eighth-floor function space will allow the property to host 100-person receptions, 50-person classes and 72-person banquets with views of the water.
While all the accommodations in Ritz-Carlton’s Waikiki property come with kitchens, guests who don’t feel like cooking can dine at one of the resort’s restaurants. Currently, its eateries include Sushi Sho, an exclusive, 10-seat restaurant from influential Tokyo sushi chef Keiji Nakazawa; BLT Market, which specializes in locally inspired, seasonal cuisine; and the two-story Dean & DeLuca, a New York-based gourmet market.
In the second tower, The Ritz-Carlton Residences will unveil another restaurant — unnamed at press time — serving pool-goers by day while doubling as a caterer for functions. A high-end market by a Hawaii brand is under development for the new wing.

Movies, Spa Treatments and Shopping
Movie lovers will enjoy the Diamond Head Tower theater that will hold up to 16 people and be available to all guests.
On the health and wellness front, the second tower will provide two extra spa treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge. The resort already features a 3,400-square-foot spa, which takes its cue from traditional Hawaiian healing methods and the island’s natural surroundings.
Upscale clients seeking retail therapy will appreciate the property’s handy location, a short walk away from such stores as Tiffany & Co., Chanel, Saint Laurent, Gucci and Miu Miu.
These selling points make The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach particularly appealing to families, couples, special-occasion celebrants, business travelers and intimate groups, Chang says.
“We are excited to present this exceptional product — delivered with the legendary Ritz-Carlton service — that will create lasting memories for the clients of our valued travel agents,” Chang said.
