Los Angeles Travel Shows in 2014

Nov 23, 2013

The Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show and the Los Angeles Times Travel Show are two essential events to attend at the start of 2014. Both will provide insight, entertainment and information for travel agents and travelers.

The Los Angeles Travel and Adventure Show will be held at the Long Beach Convention Center on Feb. 8 and 9. It will be hosted by Rick Steves, Samantha Brown, Todd Carmichael, Don Wildman, Pauline Frommer, Peter Greenberg and Patricia Schultz. The event will feature more than 400 exhibitors from around the globe, prominent travel experts, consumer seminars, interactive family-friendly activities and industry-focused trade events.

“It’s like walking through the world’s best travel guide,” said Unicomm CEO John Golicz.  “Our Los Angeles show is successful for good reason — Southern Californians have an appetite for travel and adventure, and this show is a great way to experience the world in one day, through the eyes of well-traveled speakers and the thousands of experts who represent exciting destinations from around the globe.”

The show will feature more than 400 exhibitors to provide information about many of the world’s most popular destinations. There will also be a wide variety of activities for attendees, including ziplining, a rock wall, culinary demonstrations and cultural performances from around the globe.

The Los Angeles Times Travel Show will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center Jan. 17 to 19, hosted by Alyssa Milano, Adam Richman, Henry Rollins and Arthur Frommer. It will feature a Los Angeles Times area providing information on international sporting events, music festivals and travel technology; a Travel Smart stage with seminars on travel safety, lodging, connectivity while traveling and vacation budgets; and information about traveling in Europe in 2014. There will also be cultural performances and a Flavors of the World kitchen for sampling foods from around the world.

Trade Day is on Jan. 17 and features industry experts addressing key issues facing the travel industry, as well as networking and business opportunities. Tickets to the Travel Industry Conference cost $35, but travel agents are eligible to attend the Travel Show Floor Preview for free, where they will get a sneak peek at the show booths, services and products of the weekend show.

“Travel provides endless opportunities to collect experiences and develop a deeper connection to the world,” said Catharine Hamm, editor of the Los Angeles Times’ Travel section. “We look forward to the travel show each year, where we can share stories with fellow travelers, trade tips that make each journey more enjoyable and be inspired to plan trips to new destinations.”
