Whatever kind of music your clients enjoy, they probably can find it for a song this summer in Snohomish County, Washington. Making the most of the long, lovely summer days in the Pacific Northwest, free or very inexpensive outdoor concerts await visitors during June, July and August. Clients can pack a picnic for a free serenade in the park, enjoy an Italian dinner on a patio overlooking waterfront tunes, or camp out with fellow bluegrass fans for a three-day festival.

Waterfront Concerts
With the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound serving as a natural backdrop, Port Gardner Landing at the Everett Marina creates a picturesque setting for an al fresco concert series. All shows are free throughout the summer season. Following is the lineup:

June 18-Aug. 27, 6-8 p.m.: Thursday Night Waterfront Series. These evening events usher in each weekend with music ranging from reggae to country to folk rock (425-257-7101, www.everettwa.org).

June 21-Aug. 30, 2-4 p.m.: Sunday Afternoon Waterfront Series. Here’s a variety of mellow music suitable for a relaxed weekend afternoon. Clients can stroll through the farmer’s market, grab a cup of coffee and stay for the acoustic, folk or pop jazz music (425-257-7101, www.everettwa.org).

July 18-Aug. 8, 6-8 p.m.: Lombardi’s Music on the Pier. Whether dining al fresco at Everett’s favorite waterside Italian restaurant or kicking back on the pier, music lovers can enjoy warm Saturday evenings of free pop rock, salsa, jazz or swing tunes (425-252-1886, www.snohomish.org/events).

Everett Children’s Concert Series
July 9-Aug. 27, Thursdays from 10-11 a.m: Creative entertainers inspire the imagination of kids and adults alike with positive, energetic, interactive shows like youthful pop rock, musical romps, comedy and puppets. Look for the action near the playground at Silver Lake in Thornton A. Sullivan Park (425-257-7101, www.everettwa.org/parks).

Edmonds Summer Concerts in the Park
July 12-Aug. 30, Sundays from 3 p.m.: The Edmonds Arts Commission presents free outdoor music and entertainment for the whole family. Clients can bring a lawn chair or blanket for relaxing to big band, bossa nova and Brazilian pop music. The fun takes place in City Park at 3rd and Pine in downtown Edmonds (425-771-0228, www.ci.edmonds.wa.us)

Darrington Bluegrass Festival
July 17-19: Bluegrass and gospel fans come from around the country for a weekend of romping tunes. Bands include 2008 International Bluegrass Music Awards’ Entertainer of the Year Dailey and Vincent, and 2007 and 2008 IMBA Female Vocalist of the Year Dale Ann Bradley. Also appearing are Rural Delivery (Fairbanks, Alaska), High 48s (Minneapolis), The Hillside Gougers (Vernon, British Columbia) and Country Grass (Dayton, Ohio). Catch it in Darrington Bluegrass Music Park on Hwy 530, three miles west of Darrington (360-436-1179, www.darringtontickets.com).
