What
The Travel Institute and Royal Caribbean International have committed to providing master’s graduates of Royal Caribbean University (RCU) with $7,500 to be used for completing the Certified Travel Associate (CTA) program. The contribution will cover more than 50 percent of the cost of the CTA curriculum when the program is taken through The Travel Institute.
Why It Matters
Enterprising advisors can use this initiative to help them earn a coveted CTA degree. The move shows that Royal Caribbean is committed to making sure its RCU graduates are true experts in travel planning and are at the top of their field among all agents.
Fast Facts
- Celebrating its one-year anniversary, RCU launched in late 2017 as Royal Caribbean International’s new educational platform. With three tracks — the Campus Tour, Bachelor of Adventure and Master of Adventure — the travel partner resource is a highly visual, interactive and mobile-friendly approach to online learning.
- Professionals who have completed the final segment of RCU’s curriculum can apply for the financial assistance by directly registering for the CTA program on The Travel Institute’s website.
- If travel partners are members of The Travel Institute, they will also earn an additional 10 percent toward their certification.
What They Are Saying
“Brand-specific training coupled with ‘job-readiness’ certification through The Travel Institute is a winning formula for success,” said Guida Botelho, CTA, training director for TTI. “All of our certifications have been totally overhauled to reflect content that is based on practical, real-work scenarios. We’re excited about presenting this never-before-seen benefit with Royal Caribbean, and we applaud them for recognizing their dedicated travel professionals with such a rewarding opportunity.”
“Royal Caribbean has always been a big believer in education and a huge supporter of the travel agent community — values we proudly share with The Travel Institute,” said Vicki Freed, CTC, senior vice president, sales, trade support and service for Royal Caribbean International. “The more knowledge and resources our travel partners have, the better equipped they are to sell our cruises and bring their clients’ dream vacations to life. Between Royal Caribbean University and the CTA certification, professionals have the total package. Directly supporting agents in pursuing both is further testament to our commitment in seeing them succeed for many years to come.”
