Not long after Carnival Corporation shook up its sales structure by merging the Holland America Line (HAL) and Seabourn sales teams, the company has assigned new presidents to lead those two brands, as well as Princess Cruises.

Here’s the new leadership lineup at the three cruise lines.

Holland America Line’s President: Beth Bodensteiner

Beth Bodensteiner rose through the ranks during her 20-year tenure at Holland America Line to now serve as the brand’s new president, replacing Gus Antorcha, who is shifting to Princess. Coinciding with the sales teams’ merger, she also has executive responsibility for Seabourn.

Bodensteiner has previously served as senior vice president and chief commercial officer for HAL, overseeing revenue, deployment, marketing, pricing and planning for the line’s Alaska Land+Sea Journeys cruise extension program. She also led HAL’s international sales, customer service and e-commerce, in addition to commercial activities at Seabourn.

Her successes further extend to increasing awareness for Holland America by leveraging partnerships with “Top Chef,” Audible, “Wheel of Fortune” and more, as well as helping to deploy an advanced yield optimization and demand analytics (YODA) system to generate millions of weekly reservation demand recommendations.

Princess Cruises’ President: Gus Antorcha

After helming Holland America Line, Gus Antorcha is now president of Princess Cruises. Besides a brief, less-than-a-year stint as CEO of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, he has held executive positions at Carnival Cruise Line and its corporate cousins since 2010.

While at HAL, Antorcha returned the fleet to service following the cruise industry’s 2020 cessation of operations, as well as launched the line’s newest ship, Rotterdam (the seventh vessel to hold the name in the line’s history). His accolades there also included sales milestones such as the biggest-ever reservation day for the brand and curating the Legendary Voyages category of longer sailings of 28 to 59 days.

Previously, he held the titles of chief operating officer; senior vice president, guest operations; and senior vice president, guest commerce at Carnival.

Seabourn’s President: Mark Tamis

Now leading Seabourn and reporting to Bodensteiner at HAL, Mark Tamis is another executive that started his time in the cruise industry with Carnival Cruise Line, serving as its senior vice president of guest operations from 2010 to 2015.

Earlier in his career, he worked in various roles at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, and prior to his Carnival Corp. return, he took a nearly-10-year detour as senior vice president of hotel operations for Royal Caribbean International and in other executive industry positions.

At Aimbridge Hospitality, for instance, Tamis was global president overseeing the business operations of 1,500 hotel properties. Other previous hospitality credits include executive vice president of Ian Schrager Company and area vice president of Morgans Hotel Group.

He also founded the Dads for Giving nonprofit to encourage fathers to spend quality time with their kids and teach them the value of community giving.
