Sea Life Park Hawaii is making a splash in 2014 as it celebrates 50 years on Oahu’s windward shores.
This summer, the marine life attraction is introducing revamped daily shows starring resident dolphins, penguins and sea lions. According to Sea Life Park Hawaii curator Jeff Pawloski, the goal is to teach visitors about the animals and the park’s conservation efforts while keeping the entertainment level high and staying true to Hawaiian culture.
To celebrate its anniversary, Sea Life Park is offering several promotions throughout this year. On Sept. 13 the park is rolling back the cost of admission to 1964 prices. General admission will be slashed to $2.64 per person — 90 percent off today’s rate.
In addition, during May, July and September the park is running a $50 buy-one get-one-free annual pass promotion.
Pawloski added that the park features Trip Advisor’s highest-rated Oahu luau.
“Sea Life Park Hawaii delivers a one-of-a-kind experience that is entertaining, educational and completely interactive,” said Pawloski. “It affords all ages the opportunity to experience the wonder of marine life while learning how everyone can do their part to protect the environment.”
Among the park’s standout activities are opportunities to swim with dolphins, sea lions and Hawaiian rays. It recently added the option to swim near ten native Hawaiian sharks with only a wire mesh between participants and the sleek sea creatures.
“This is more than a day trip,” said Pawloski. “It is an extraordinary experience that is as meaningful today as it was 50 years ago.”
