For every couple, there’s a perfect way to celebrate love in Hawaii. Active pairs fly high on air tours and ziplines. Mellow partners hold hands while strolling by the sea. Newlyweds plan their future on hikes through tropical rainforests, and seniors renew their vows during ceremonies inspired by the culture.
Hawaii recently introduced the following paths to passion. For the magic to begin, clients need only say “yes.”
Fitness and Food at The Kahala Hotel & Resort, OahuFor twosomes wanting to savor the finer things, suggest the Kahala Life package. Among the inclusions is a chef’s table dinner at Hoku’s, the Honolulu hotel’s acclaimed restaurant, fresh from a multimillion-dollar renovation.
Clients also get a breakfast buffet each morning and personal fitness training. The package’s 2019 starting rate is $1,585 per night in a suite with idyllic views of the ocean.
Hawaii Love at Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii IslandAt this Kohala Coast resort, the award-winning Spa Without Walls has updated its menu of services, including a couple's treatment called Hawaii Love. Promising to enliven the senses, the 80-minute indulgence comes with a full-body Hawaiian massage as well as a hand and foot exfoliation.
Locally sourced passion fruit and coconut oil provide an amorous sense of place, as does a waterfall ($499) or oceanside ($509) setting.
Living in Luxury at The Lodge at Kukuiula, KauaiA special vacation for two calls for exceptional accommodations. On Kauai, such digs await at The Lodge at Kukuiula, an exclusive collection of freestanding, fully furnished homes.
For 2019, the south shore property gives couples up to $1,000 in resort credit when they stay at least five nights. They can use the credit at the spa, on the golf course, for activities or at a restaurant. Nightly rates range from $899 for one-bedroom units up to $2,039 for four bedrooms, including freebies such as continental breakfast and fitness classes.
Personalized Portraits at Four Seasons Resort LanaiArtist Mike Carroll moved to Lanai to pursue his lifelong loves of art and nature. Today, in his Lanai City gallery, he displays his original oil paintings and prints depicting the joys of Hawaii.
With assistance from Four Seasons Resort Lanai, couples can commission Carroll to create a painting or sketch of them during their visit. It makes for a singular keepsake of a dreamy getaway to Hawaii’s smallest island destination.
Splashy Photos at Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club, OahuFor couples who want to take the plunge, literally, this quirky Waikiki hotel now presents photoshoots dubbed Trash the Dress. Just-married couples commemorate their big day by jumping into Surfjack Hotel’s camera-ready pool, as a professional shutterbug captures the action.
