I appreciated the panoramic windows on the air-conditioned first and second decks, although I was partial to the open-air top deck, where I could feel the warm breeze and hear the splash of the ocean.

Majestic recently enhanced its Sunset Appetizer Cruise with a hosted beverage package: Guests can sip unlimited house wine, beer and champagne, safe in the knowledge that they have arranged van transfers to and from Waikiki hotels. Along with drinks comes a generous spread of pupus (appetizers) such as teriyaki meatballs and tropical fruit skewers. The two-hour jaunt is convenient, too; it ends by 7:15 p.m., providing clients with time for an evening activity afterward.
Live Hawaiian music and a hula dancer inject a spirit of aloha to the cruise. Then, there are the views. Looking like a movie set, Diamond Head and the Honolulu skyline bask in the orange glow of the sunset — something best experienced from the water.
