Four Seasons Resort Hualalai Launches 27-Hour Helicopter and Volcano Experience

Aug 13, 2017

Leave it to Hawaii Island’s Four Seasons Resort Hualalai to make a helicopter tour seem, well, ordinary. The resort has launched its 27-hour-long Ultimate Pop-Up Volcano Adventure — the first overnight excursion for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts — and transport is strictly by chopper.

Guests are lifted from the property’s golf course to soar over the Kohala mountain range and other stunning terrain. After landing for a secluded picnic lunch and a guided hike to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park’s Komokuna lava flow, guests join a renowned volcanologist back onboard for an informative birds’-eye view of Kilauea, an active volcano.

An 1,800-square-foot, two-level cottage — complete with a separate sauna house and outdoor hot tub — awaits guests in the evening, along with private chefs and live entertainment. The night closes with an on-ground tour of Kilauea Caldera, but morning brings more exploration by helicopter, including a stop for a private ocean dip, before returning to Four Seasons Hualalai.

Exclusive to hotel guests, the experience is $39,500 for up to four people.
